Who we’re looking to recruit

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our warehouse & workshop team in Portslade, Brighton.

The Role

The Warehouse Technician will primarily work in our workshop, testing and repairing equipment but also undertake a number of other warehouse related tasks as required.

Personality

You must be keen to work in a hands-on environment, in a warehouse & workshop setting, undertaking varied tasks. Our work is often out of the ordinary and, as such, tasks can change. Therefore, adaptability and a team mindset are very important. As the role will primarily be tasked with the testing and maintenance of our equipment you should be equally happy working alone or on combined tasks with the rest of the Warehouse Team. Whilst our equipment is often bespoke, it is vital that you have good basic knowledge of electronics and electrical systems as well as an interest in (and an understanding of) general technical elements of LED lighting products and audio systems.

Main Responsibilities

• Testing, repairing and maintaining our stock of equipment.
• Maintaining Workshop and managing stock of components.
• Support the rest of the warehouse team with all tasks required to keep our inventory of equipment in good working order, organised and accessible.
• Assist with the preparation & packing of equipment for projects.
• Check back in equipment from projects, clean and restock.
• Load / Unload Vehicles
• Check in purchase arrivals.
• Travel to work on-site from time to time and support the installation of our projects
• Additional responsibilities and support of other roles as assigned by the Operations Manager.
• The Warehouse Technician will report to the Operations Manager.

Essential Experience/Skills Required

• A hands-on and practical approach to technical work.
• Experience with workshop related tasks e.g. soldering, electronics, woodworking or metalworking.
• A strong IT literacy with good understanding of Windows based systems and software.
• Manual handling
• Excellent time management skills and a drive to undertake tasks to the best of your ability.
• Great communication skills.
• Ability to work in the UK.

Desirable Experience

• Events Experience.
• Technical experience of events equipment i.e. power systems, lighting, sound etc.
• Inventory Software Experience.
• Any warehouse equipment qualifications.
• First Aid Training (training will be available if not).
• Any H&S Experience e.g. fire warden training
• Full driving license with own vehicle.
• Valid Passport.

Details & benefits

• £28,000 per annum
• 35-hour week, with semi-flexible working hours working from our Portslade, Brighton warehouse/office
• Due to the type of work, evening and weekend work may be required on occasions for which TOIL is available

Having been forced to cancel for the second year in a row, this (hopefully) once in a lifetime special event has been created by Glastonbury to bring a touch of festival magic to audiences on livestream and in cinemas.

Live at Worthy Farm is a film by Paul Dugdale showcasing a variety of unique live performances from artists and special guests – only the crowds of festival goers are missing.

The largest Sea of Light we ever created surrounds Coldplay at the famous Pyramid stage and features in some fantastic drone shots too.

Inspired by some of the world’s natural wonders such as Niagara Falls, Waterfall featured over 9,000 LEDs spread across an area of nearly 4,000 square meters. 

The waterfall was created from layered strings of custom made mirrored LED spheres, supported by netting interwoven with highly reflective foils which created a delightful daytime aesthetic as the sunlight fell on them. 

As evening fell, the lights moved through altered states from a tranquil bubbling waterfall of blues and greens, through shimmering rain and sparkling patterns to swirling shapes, flickering fire and ice. 

The animations travelled the entire length of the 20 metre light strings and then shot and swirled across the ground, connecting the verticals and ground lighting to create a huge, syncronised display. 

The result was an epic 10 minute, near 360 degree immersive audio and light show that showcased Kew’s famous Treetop Walkway in a whole new light.

Ditto was commissioned by Winter Lights Canary Wharf as a site specific installation. Built around the existing seating area at Wren Landing, a mirrored framework was built inside the space and hung with thousands of reflective spherical lights and hidden speakers, creating an immersive ‘infinity’ experience.

Specifically designed to compliment the natural beauty and immaculate landscape of Chicago Botanic Garden, the installation succeeds in creating a 360 degreee walk-through immersive and captivating show that does not distract from the site’s existing features.

Working with the landscape, this animated river of light curves and flows around the paths and landscape in perfect harmony with the gardens, creating a walk-around immersive sound and light show.
